Our story
Book Aviator started the way most good book stories do — with too many books and not enough shelf space. What began as a small Instagram shop, @thebookaviator, matching preloved books with new readers around Dubai, has grown into this: a proper home for second-hand books in the UAE.
What we believe
A finished book isn't a used-up book. It's a story between flights. Somewhere out there is its next reader — and finding that person shouldn't require the book to be pulped, shipped across the world, or printed all over again.
So we keep it simple. People across the Emirates donate the books they've finished. We collect them from their door, check every copy honestly, photograph the actual book you'll receive, and price it kindly. When you order, it flies to your door — and the cycle starts again.
Why preloved?
- It's kinder to your wallet. Most of our books go for around half their retail price, often less.
- It's kinder to the planet. Every book that finds a second reader is paper, ink, printing and shipping that never has to happen twice — and one less book in a landfill.
- It's kinder to the story. Books are meant to circulate. A shelf is a resting place, not a retirement home.
Honest conditions, real photos
Every copy is graded on a simple, honest scale — Like New, Very Good, or Good — and the photo on each listing is of the actual copy that will arrive at your door. No surprises, just slightly-loved books with plenty of flights left in them.
